Boehringer Ingelheim has announced a promotion to raise awareness of canine heart disease byThe Million Heart Challenge: Help to Raise Awareness for Canine Heart Disease sponsoring a VACATION SWEEPSTAKES. The maker of what now is a very popular and effective medication for the treatment of congestive heart failure in dogs, Vetmedin, has developed a website (click here)  with the goal of one million clicks to raise awareness of the early detection and treatment of congestive heart failure in dogs. In addition the company has generously pledged to donate to the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine when goal of million clicks on the website has been achieved. The mission of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) is to enhance animal and human health by advancing veterinary internal medicine through training, education, and discovery.

Vetmedin is a relatively new drug approved to treat dogs with all forms of heart disease that result in congestive heart failure. Dilated Cardiomyopathy, Chronic Mitral Valve Disease, Chronic Tricuspid Valve Disease and congenital heart diseases in dogs including Sub aortic Stenosis (SAS) (Aortic Stenosis), Pulmonic Stenosis, Patient Ductus Arteriosis, and Interventricular Septal Defect to name a few.
