Keeping your Cat Healthy: Home Dental Care

An important aspect of dental care for your cat is brushing her teeth at home on a regular basis. The American Veterinary Dental College recommends that you brush your cats teeth daily. To desensitize your cat to having his teeth brushed, you can massage her gums with your finger. Once your cat is accustomed to having her teeth touched, you can brush with a cotton swab or a commercial feline toothbrush. Here is a video demonstrating the technique of brushing your cat’s teeth. The feline model in this video is Squeakers! You can see that once desensitized to the process, your cat won’t mind this bit of attention, at all!
